A native East Texan, originally from Pittsburg, Cory is in the internship phase of his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at Tyler. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas A&M University-Texarkana and spent five years working in the communications and public relations field before deciding to pursue a career in counseling. He enjoys working with clients across the lifespan and has experience working with anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship concerns, and other life experiences. He believes that each person has their own story that has shaped what they are currently experiencing. Through his work, he strives to foster a safe space where clients can tell their story, gain insight into how that has impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling. He utilizes various therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, solutions-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. He is under the supervision of Ashlee Coleman, LPC-S.
