Austyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. He started his journey in the mental health field after working in Student Development at Wheaton College where he completed his undergraduate studies in Communication and also received an M.A. in Christian Formation & Student Development. During this time he cultivated a passion for working with young adults as they wrestled through questions of identity and belonging. This led him to complete a second Masters in Professional Counseling at Liberty University.
He continues to enjoy working with children, teens, and young adults. Over the years he has also grown to enjoy working with couples as a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator and Trainer.
His greatest desire for clients is that they feel seen, valued, and known throughout the therapeutic experience. His greatest joy comes when he sees clients feel heavy burdens lifted so that they can continue the ongoing process of growth and transformation uninhibited.
Areas of interest: Trauma work, EMDR therapy, assessment for ADHD, anxiety, and depression management, pre-marital work, life transitions, young adulthood, and understanding personality dynamics.
