Courtney Gordon, M.A.
Courtney is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working with individuals, couples and families since 2007. She has been married for 19 years to her husband, Joe, and they have one teenage son. She realizes the courage it takes to step into a counseling office and strives to honor her clients’ time and commitment to the therapeutic process.
Courtney has extensive experience working with adolescents, adults and families struggling with substance abuse or other harmful behaviors. She has worked in adolescent residential treatment, intensive outpatient programs and has directed treatment in an adolescent foster care setting.
Courtney is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and enjoys using it to help couples discover their patterns of getting stuck and new ways of communicating that help both partners feel heard, valued, seen and secure.
Her interests include: Substance abuse and addiction, creating secure relational attachments, trauma, pre-teens and teen issues, couples’ therapy, communication in the family, grief, anxiety, boundaries, overcoming perfectionism and developing self-compassion.
