Our Solace Counseling Team

Rebecca Renfrow, M.A.
LPC

Do you find yourself gripped with anxiety and worry, no matter what you do? Maybe you find yourself in repetitive, harmful patterns. You're someone who wants to feel happier and healthier but instead find yourself feeling anxious and stressed most of the time. You often feel disconnected from those you love and stuck in unhelpful patterns. You want to get to the root of why you feel and respond the way you do and feel like you have more control over your life. You are ready to make more meaningful choices about how you treat yourself and others. You believe there is something better for you-you just need help getting there.

I specialize in helping individuals experience long term change by overcoming challenges with anxiety and depression, relationship issues, and trauma so they can heal the root of the problem. I also specialize in helping teens cope with stress and anxiety by overcoming challenges with the pressures of being a teenager and grow their self-esteem so they can feel better about themselves as they move through life.

I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and am an EMDR Certified Therapist. I also have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I work to incorporate these modalities based on your unique needs and goals. You and I will work together to determine which methods suit you best.

I graduated with my B.A. in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University and after many years of working as an elementary and junior high teacher I continued my education at The University of Texas at Tyler, earning my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Along with my role as a therapist at Solace, I have experience working in the non-profit counseling setting as well as the school setting. I have been married to my husband, Eric, for 29 years and we have two young adult sons.

Areas of interest: trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, teen issues, family communication and bonding, boundaries, identity development and self-compassion.
