Zach Herrin

Zach Herrin, M.A., LPC-S
Owner & Founding Partner

Do you ever feel weighed down by stress and worry, no matter how hard you try to shake it? Maybe you find yourself stuck in the same frustrating patterns—arguing with your spouse, shutting down, or feeling distant from the people you care about most. You want to feel stronger, more connected, and more in control of your life, but instead you keep running into the same walls. Deep down, you know things can be better—you just need the right support to break free from old habits and build healthier ways of showing up for yourself and your relationships.

I specialize in walking with people through some of life’s toughest challenges—whether that’s breaking free from the grip of narcissistic relationships, finding healing from porn addiction, managing the pressure of work stress, or navigating big life transitions. I also work closely with college students and teens who feel weighed down by anxiety, self-doubt, and the constant pressure to measure up. My goal is to help you get to the root of what keeps you stuck so you can experience real, lasting change—building healthier relationships, stronger self-esteem, and a renewed sense of peace as you move forward in life.

I am trained in EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and I use a person-centered approach that tailors each session to your unique needs and goals. My Christian faith also informs the way I walk alongside clients, offering hope and encouragement for those who want to include it in their journey. Together, we’ll find the tools and strategies that help you move forward with greater freedom and peace.

I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2004 with a degree in Communications and went on to earn my M.A. in Counseling from Denver Seminary in 2011. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of counseling settings, including ETMC Behavioral Health Center and Alethia Counseling Center here in Tyler, before co-founding Solace Counseling in 2019. I have been married to my wife, Amber, for 17 years, and together we are raising our three kids—two daughters and a son, all in their teen and preteen years. Along with my role as a therapist and supervisor, I enjoy being part of a team that values both professional excellence and genuine care for clients.

I have a passion for helping people heal and grow through life’s toughest challenges. In my work, I often walk alongside men navigating struggles unique to them, individuals healing from narcissistic relationships, those working through porn addiction, and people facing stress and major life transitions. My areas of interest include trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, teen issues, family communication and bonding, setting healthy boundaries, identity development, and building self-compassion. My goal is to create a safe, common sense and supportive space where clients can process deeply, gain clarity, and move toward lasting change.
